This week, FFI Practitioner is pleased to introduce a series of podcasts featuring interviews with the 2020 FFI Achievement Award recipients. In this week’s podcast, Jordan Rich interviews Rania Labaki, the recipient of the Barbara Hollander Award, about her experience in the academic world and how research on multi-generational companies contributes to the large field of family enterprise advising and study.

 


 

Rania Labaki, PhD

Rania Labaki, PhD, FFI Fellow, is an associate professor of management at EDHEC Business School and director of the EDHEC Family Business Centre. Her interest ranges from finance in family firms to the play of emotions in family relationships, particularly as emotional patterns are passed through generations. She is also scholar at the Cornell Smith Family Business Initiative, advisor at Lansberg Gersick & Associates and IFERA board member. She is a recipient of the 2012 FFI Best Unpublished Research Paper Award and a recipient of the 2015 FBR Best Article Award. In October, she will co-present the session “Ethical Dilemmas of Family Business Members and Their Advisors” at the FFI Global Conference.

Rania Labaki, PhD

Jordan Rich is celebrating a quarter century at one of America’s top legacy radio stations, WBZ 1030, where he hosted “The Jordan Rich Show,” interviewing thousands of celebrities, authors, actors and interesting personalities and developing a loyal following across the USA and Canada. Jordan is co-owner of Chart Productions Inc, a highly respected audio production agency. His voice is heard on hundreds of narrations and commercials throughout the country. He also teaches voice-over acting. Jordan’s main focus these days is in podcast creation and production, including his own personal podcast, “On Mic with Jordan Rich,” featuring conversations with the world’s most creative people.
