Gary Mendell is the founder and CEO of Shatterproof, a national nonprofit that provides trusted guidance and support to communities; removes systemic and social barriers to treatment; and mobilizes the country to advocate for change and to end addiction stigma. After losing his son Brian to addiction, Mendell founded Shatterproof in 2012 to ensure that people with substance use disorders have access to the life-saving treatment, resources and research.
